A Proven Progressive for Cambridge, Medford, Somerville, and Winchester

Dear Neighbor, 

I am grateful to have had the chance to work with and for the people of our district as your senator. I ask for your vote so we can continue to work together.

The people in our district shape my work.  

Most of my successful legislation has been based on the personal stories people brought to me, stories about pay equity, hospital safety, wrongful convictions, and more.  Read some of those stories on this site.

Hundreds of people contact our office to ask for help with state programs, particularly this past three years with unemployment insurance and housing.  Often my staff can help resolve individual problems, and then we focus on resolving the systemic issues.

Thousands of constituents a year write, call or meet to tell me their urgent concerns and requests.  Their voices help me decide which bills to support, amend, or cosponsor.

Many people organize to take and demand action on issues, from road safety to environmental problems.  I am happy to work with them and we often can find solutions.  When we don’t, we can keep working.

We are living in hard and dangerous times, but there’s reason to hope and work hard.

We are making progress, and we can’t slow down.
